If you put in a bug report they should give it to you. Just hope it doesn't go back up before they do.

First of all, I really do understand your not liking to lose money ... however, you are the one that put the short in for $54.10 ... and it is not WSS's fault that it went up to $54.25 at open the next day.  This game imitates real life in that if you make a choice and it goes the other way from the way you thought it would, you lose money.

WSS is not perfect, and I am very aware of glitches in the program as I am having a problem with "systemcancelled" orders.  But I have never blamed WSS for orders that I made that didn't go my way.  Only when you placed a cover or sale, the price was met, and the stock stayed in your portfolio....  THEN you have a valid complaint.  That has happened to me, too.  :::sigh:::

A short means you expect the stock to go lower ... you need to set your cover price as soon as you set the short.  If you don't, then don't blame WSS for not covering you.

I'm sorry that you feel that WSS is being unfair.  Certainly this session has more than its fair share of glitches ... but from what I read, you are not describing glitches.

GOOD LUCK!  I hope you do better soon.

Melany, I put the short in at $54.10 knowing it would drop, it opened at $54.25 it's no different than if you placed a long order at $54.10 hoping the price would drop to that before it went up or even $54.26 hoping it would go up and you just paid .01 than it was worth at open and in real life trading the order I placed would have gone through...even here it should have gone thru it has before, sometimes stocks do not open at what they closed at because of after hours trading
