    The grand Prize for Jan-Apr/08

I won the biggest prize that WSS ever had offered. I won the longest contest that WSS had ever had. But I'm not going to take it.

The Grand Prize(s) were given to the players. Since I gave up the prize, and gave my approval to WSS, I think it's fair that one of my fellow traders be awarded for The Grand Prize. This is my way of giving back to the survivors' community.

I don't have any idea how WSS will handle this. I don't know what the contest rules say in this situation.  The ball is in the hand of WSS.What's your opinion, survivors?

P.S.: Thank you, all survivors, who gave me warm congrats directly or indirectly.

as an arizonon like you,I wish you good tidings ,as far the prize goes you are a very giving and generous person and congrats to you on winning the prize also, but not sure what they are gonna do with this ,but I hope for the best in this situation, they could put it up for bidding or have another separate game stat or buy with our points for a raffle too ! good luck to you and thanks from all of us too !

Well I don't understand why you wouldn't accept it but you must have good reasons.  I hope that WSS does a raffle where we can buy with our points.

Wow thats pretty kewl of you, kinda curious why you didnt accept but thats ok thats your choice....usually when someone gives up a prize like this the first runner up is usually rewarded.

Personally, if I had won the trip I would have most likely given it away...being single I would have no one to go with anyways lol

I don't think I'd be able to give it up either... Perhaps the winner is busy with work? That would be a good reason for turning it down, especially if there was a time limitation attached.

Azsky, I am speechless! Are you related to someone in the WSS group that disqualifies you? If you couldn't take the trip, wasn't a cash prize offered instead??? You worked so hard during the whole contest, I think you should be rewarded somehow. Did they offer you a book deal???  lol

Oh, I get it!! You are a self proclaimed millionaire that was playing as a hobby and had fun! Well, whatever the reason, you have my respect and admiration. I hope WSS respects your wishes and plans something that helps us all! Thank You!

JamesLT, I might be tempted to go with you, lol. I have never traveled, went to Florida once. But I would opt for the cash prize to pay my mortgage.  lol

Congratulations on your win! Thanks for adding me to your buddy list AZsky.

Truthfully, I would do the same thing. I just happened to be thinking, just after I joined WSS, that I hoped that I would NOT win the Grand Prize because I'd rather have the cash instead of a trip. 2nd-place prize is a much better prize IMO... but since I'm playing against you, I'll probably never find out. ;-)

My opinion about this subject is that if the 1st-place winner declines the prize, it should be awarded to the 2nd-place winner (if he/she wants it).

this is quite surprising!!  the prize will probably go to the runner-up.

i hope they gave you some cash.  even if you don't need it, you can donate  it  to your favorite charity!

Wow, we might have the chance that I win, WSS wins, and everybody wins. Royalty points and WSS store have been one of the issues here, and we might make progress on that issue. Let's hope for the best.

My decision to give back the grand prize was not that hard actually. I've put enough posts here in the forums, and if you followed me, you understand how much I love this site, and how much respect I have for my fellow survivors. I can't say enough ‘thanks' to Mr. nice guy ‘maestro' (gomaxgo). The conversation with him was extended and I met a lot of good people here: Luego, victhebrick, rosebud, Karand, Corky, Derricka, Melany, Barb, Ilovehl, InnaD, supercholl, trader477.......

The hardest part was I couldn't do anything for my wife. I was a kind of street addict, and it gave a countless pain to her. I couldn't have come this far without her sacrifice and love. I wanted this ticket so bad for her. When it became a reality, we found out that we are not in a position to make the trip. We have twin daughters in their high teens, and we don't want to leave them home alone. (J828, you are so right. I have to make the trip on Nov 5, 2008)

Here is a first email I sent to WSS.

    Hi there,

Mr. Kee, I'm giving up the Grand Prize for the contest.

I sat down with my wife and my twin dauthers, discussed about it and decided to
give up the prize. We are not available for the travel on November 5, 2008.

You have my approval to award the prize to any other survivor pursuant to the
    contest rules.

    Best regards, Kim
