DNC in debt...emails asking for post election donations?

Just curious if the Obama supporters on this site are still donating to the DNC?

I personally didn't make any donations to either Obama or McCain during the elections and don't plan to make any now.  According to the email, looks like the DNC over spent during the campaign and is still soliciting donations.   Did the DNC "buy" the elections by out spending the GOP?

Recent email thread from the DNC below:  (I've recieved several versions)

Our friends at the Democratic National Committee laid it all on the line to bring change this year.

We've been reviewing the books, and the DNC went into considerable debt to secure victory for Barack and Joe. It took unprecedented resources to staff up all 50 states, train field organizers, and build the technology to reach as many swing voters as possible.

    It worked.

But it also left the DNC in debt. So before we do anything else, we need to help pay for this winning strategy.

Make a donation of $30 or more now and you'll get a limited edition 2008 Victory T-shirt.

The DNC's 50-state field strategy was crucial to our campaign's success, as well as victories for Democrats up and down the ballot. Their organizing infrastructure allowed us to compete -- and win -- in states that seemed insurmountable just four years ago.

They took out substantial loans to make it happen. The DNC didn't hold back, and now, neither can we.

You were there for this campaign when we needed to reach out to more voters and compete in more states. Now we're relying on grassroots supporters like you to come through for this movement once again.

We'll get to work transforming this country. But first, we need to take care of the DNC.

Well, I only donated to Ron Paul's campaign ... but, I have no doubt that they overspent ... it is what bureaucrats do best.

If you look closely at the senders address you'll see that this is a third party e mail. This is a scam and will redirect you to another site and wipe out your credit or debit card as well as steal your personal info.

I did get the same email from David Plourde before and after the end of the race, Majik. Do you think the link address has been redirected and exploited? Ive long canned them so I cant send. I will check for a new one.

And yes, Im still getting requests for donations of late from Obama campaign.

I think you're right majik13...its a "scam" directly operated by the DNC to out right rip people off by offering $30 T-shirts.

I visited the barackobama.com website (http://www.barackobama.com/) and sure enough on the home page, there's a link asking for donations in return for the T-shirt.  The link on this homepage has the exact same URL posted in the email message I posted earlier.  This URL is https://donate.barackobama.com/page/contribute/dnc08victoryshirt1?source=feature

If what you say is true, then millions of people who donated to Obama will have their identities stolen! LoL  -I'm glad that I didn't donate!  Or perhaps, you're just dead wrong on this and its not a "scam" in the sense you've defined it...

-I'm operating under the assumption that www.barackobama.com is a legitimate site.  If this is not true, let me know.

Ask the Dems for the money they had enough to give to the Obama campaign they are the ones with all the money.
