1. Registration Period - The Registration period for Wall Street Survivor's $250,000 Stock Contest begins on August 30th, 2008. Survivors who registered prior to this date are eligible for all prizes and need not re-register to play. Wall Street Survivor reserves the right to limit or turn off registrations as it deems necessary.
2. Trading Periods - The monthly trading period for determining monthly prizes begins on the first trading day of the calendar month and ends at market close on the last trading day of each calendar month. The weekly trading period for determining weekly prizes begins on the first trading day of the calendar week (usually Monday) and ends at market close on the last trading day of each calendar week (usually Friday).
3. Initial Cash Balance - New Survivors will be given an initial cash balance of US $100,000 of fictitious funds in their Wall Street Survivor account.
4. Eligible Securities - Survivors can buy any common stock, preferred stock, or ETF listed on NYSE, NASDAQ, or AMEX exchange that is quoted by our data vendor with a bid of $.25 or higher. Survivors cannot trade pink sheet stocks, mutual funds, options, futures, or bonds.
5. Order Types and Trade Execution - Market, limit, and stop orders will be accepted. All orders are executed at the real-time bid/ask prices as provided by our data vendor when placed during market hours. However, due to exchange rules, all stock quotes displayed are delayed by at least 15 minutes, unless you have a subscription to real time quotes.
Market orders placed while the markets are closed or before the market opens will be executed at an appropriate bid/ask price shortly after the market opens and contingent to trading volume on that particular stock. However, if the requested stock does not yet have sufficient volume to trade (refer Trading Volume Limits rule), order will remain pending until there is sufficient volume. Once the order has executed, the transaction will automatically appear in the Player's Portfolio and Transaction History.
Trades placed after market hours can be viewed in the Pending Orders screen. Pending orders can be cancelled until 9:25 am ET on the day the trade is scheduled for execution. Pending market orders placed on halted stocks will be cancelled if trading does not resume by the end of the day.
Limit and stop orders may be placed as "Day" orders which are good for the day only, or as "GTC" orders, which are good until cancelled.
If a Player does not have adequate cash or buying power to process a trade, then the number of shares will be adjusted to allow the trade to be filled.
6. Commissions - Each trade will incur a broker commission fee of $10.00 which will be subtracted from their WSS cash balance.
7. Buying on Margin - Buying on margin is allowed for all securities with a price of $3.00 or higher. This means that the trader can borrow additional funds from Wall Street Survivor based on an initial margin requirement of 50%.
8. Short Sells - Short sell is permitted and short orders do not need an uptick to be filled. Short sells where the bid price of the most recent trade is less than $3.00 are not permitted. Proceeds from the short sell are restricted and cannot be used to buy additional stocks.
9. Splits, Dividends and other Corporate Actions - Most stock splits, dividends, and other corporate actions reported by the news wires will be accounted for in Player’s account. These situations may cause account values to be misrepresented until the reconciliation occurs.
10. Trading Halts - Halted, restricted, and blocked stocks will not be available for trading. Any trade that is confirmed after trading has been halted will be reversed.
11. Canceling Market Orders - Traders cannot cancel market orders placed during market hours.
12. Discrepancies - Traders should report any account discrepancy within one (1) week from the transaction date. WSS will, at its sole discretion investigate and adjust any legitimate discrepancy. Discrepancies reported after one (1) week may or may not be adjusted.
13. Position Limit - Traders may invest a maximum of twenty-five (25) percent of their portfolio value in any one stock.
14. Trading Volume Limits - Order quantity cannot exceed 50% of the volume at the time the trade is submitted. If the order does not meet the volume limits, your order will remain open for 1 trading day. For the duration that order is open, if there is sufficient volume, order will be filled. This rule applies to only ‘buy’ or ‘short’ orders.
15. Initial Public Offerings - Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) may only be traded once they are listed on the exchange and their quotes are carried by the WSS data vendor. Pending trades on Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) will be executed at the market price, not the IPO price.
16. Transaction Limits - The maximum number of trades allowed per month is 5,000.
17. Cash Prizes - Monthly and Weekly prizes are determined based on the greatest portfolio percentage gain, one prize per individual, at the end of the trading period as per the following schedule:

WSS conducts audits to determine daily, weekly and end-of-contest winners. All pricing information is received from Thomson Financial, an independent data provider, and Wall Street Survivor is not responsible for the accuracy of such data. All prices are an approximation of market value at the time each trade is executed. We will make a commercially reasonable effort to ensure that trades are filled at actual price at the time of trade, but we make no guarantee that the price at which a Participant buys or sells a stock will match any other price that may be found outside of the contest. If WSS finds trades counter to or outside the scope of rules WSS has final trading adjustment authority to rectify.
19. Winner Notification - Winners will be notified by us in a commercially reasonable timeframe, after the account audit process has concluded. Winner acknowledges that is it his/her responsibility to ensure that his/her contact information is valid and accurate. Winners must be over the age of 18 at the time of entry into the contest in order to be eligible to win prizes. Wall Street Survivor requires all winners provide proof of age of majority, residency and identity prior to the award of all prizes. Wall Street Survivor accepts no responsibility for inaccurate or invalid information submitted to us. Winners are responsible for any taxes due as a result of winning prizes. If confirmation response is not received by us within 14 days, the result may be forfeiture of any prize or award or earned as determined by Wall Street Survivor at its sole discretion.
